Found Bichon Frise in Burien

Daisy Lost in Tacoma

 Daisy is a skittish young dog saved from neglect at a puppy mill in Eastern Washington.  The bottom picture shows how she looked before being rescued by the Forget Me Not shelter in Republic, WA.  They cleaned her up, had her spayed, and adopted her out with another dog from the same group, Balzac.  The male dog is more confident and social, and it was hoped that keeping Daisy with him would help her relax and adapt.

Two days after arriving at their new home in Tacoma, Daisy and Balzac escaped the fenced yard.  Balzac, being better with people, was picked up by a dog lover and taken to the Tacoma Humane Society and returned home.  Daisy may have been hiding in the bushes nearby at the time, but they didn't know she was there.  Another likely scenario is that Daisy never left the neighborhood and is still hiding somewhere near North Washington and North 37th St.  If you see Daisy, do not approach her.  Please just call 206-552-0304 right away.  We will bring Balzac to the area she is located to draw her out of hiding.  She escaped from the area of North 39th Street and North Proctor Street in Tacoma, between downtown and Point Defiance.  She is likely hiding in the woods, under a deck, or under a shed.  Please keep an eye out for her and call us right away.  Do not approach her or call her name.  It may help us find her if you could share this web page, or share the flier below.  Thank you.

Jessie in West Seattle

[Note: Jessie has been found.] Jessie is missing in West Seattle.  She ran off when frightened by a loud noise on October 20th from the area of Avalon and Genesee.  She was wearing a black bandana with clovers on it.  She has been seen several times on Admiral Way, Delridge Way, near the soccer fields, the golf course, and the park in the ravine north of Genesee.  The last confirmed sighting was on the 25th near the skate park at Genesee and Delridge.  A possible sighting on October 28th at 13th Ave and Barton could not be confirmed.  If you see her, do not approach her or try to catch her.  Please just keep her in your sight, from a distance, and call one of these numbers with as much detailed information as possible.  206-552-0304.  Jessie's owner will come to that location as quickly as she can and try to calm Jessie.  Please consider printing out a few copies of the flier below, to give to people you know in the area.  You can also email the flier to friends and colleagues who live or work in the area, or share a link to this page on Facebook.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lulu in Ballard

(Note:  Lulu was found several miles away.  It appears she hopped into a work vehicle and was accidentally transported out of the neighborhood.  She was taken to the vet, where her chip was scanned.) Lulu has been missing since 9/26 in the area of 96th Street and 27th Ave NW in Ballard.  She is normally very friendly, but she may be hiding in your yard or under your deck due to a frightening experience.  She has a microchip.  Please call 206-552-0304 if you have seen her at any time since the 26th.  Also, please consider sharing this web page by email and on Facebook.  If you live or work in the area, you can print out the flier below to hand out in the area.  Your help is greatly appreciated.

Lucas is Home!

Lucas was found today, less than a mile from home, near SE 280th Street and 121st Ave SE, in someone's yard in the shade.  The homeowner saw a flier that Tammy had put up earlier today.  The place he was found was not far from the second trail Kelsy followed on Sunday.  Lucas appears to be unhurt, and is sleeping safe and sound at home. 

Sunday search for Lucas

Kelsy searched for Lucas today.  The scent trail looped back around, and did not seem to cross 116th, the busy main street.  We got a sighting from Friday afternoon, and started Kelsy from that point.  It led into the woods, on a long dead-end trail.  Lucas wouldn't have known it was a dead end when he started down it.

Another reported sighting came in about 2:00 Sunday afternoon, that Lucas was seen a block north of the Chevron at 116th and Kent Kangley Road.  It took us a long time to verify the information, and Kelsy was not able to work out the scent trail from the point of the sighting.  It was getting hot by that time, and Kelsy was getting tired.  When she has to pant to stay cool, it makes it harder to work the scent trail.  We are hoping for a fresh sighting.  At least we know that Lucas is getting around and being seen.  The key is to get the attention of those people who have seen him.  Getting the word out about Lucas could make a big difference.

 Kelsy started her first search at 116th and 269th, going south, then east, then north, then west, in a loop.  We hit private property where we were unable to get permission to continue the search.  Then we got a reported sighting of where Lucas was at 2 PM Friday.

They described him exactly, and the people who saw Lucas were able to pinpoint where he went, so Kelsy could start at the exact spot.  Kelsy started at 120th and 274th, and followed the scent trail south, into a park.  This time the scent trail was literally a dead end.  This long trail into the woods just ended, with no way out but the way we came.  Lucas wouldn't have know or cared that it was a dead end when he went in.

Around 2 PM, we got a call that Lucas had been seen ten minutes ago.  I started Kelsy on the scent trail from where we thought the caller was describing.  As Kelsy ran this scent trail into the wind, I think Kelsy was actually working it backwards.  The scent became weaker as Kelsy continued south, into a park.  At that point, she was hot and tired, so I couldn't work her any more.  We never could get an exact description of where Lucas was sighted.  Hopefully, we will continue to get new reports. 

Lucas in Kent 20120922

Lucas escaped a fenced yard in Kent on 9/21/2012.  Lucas is about 4 years old.  He was found by a vet tech by the side of the road, apparently hit by a car, in early September.  The previous owner told the vet he didn't want Lucas, didn't want to spend any money on him, and that the vet should euthanize Lucas.  The vet performed surgery and Lucas recovered well in the past two weeks.  He went to his new home on the 20th.  On the 21st, he escaped through an unknown defect in the fence.  He was last seen headed west at 116th SE and SE 270th.

At 53 pounds, Lucas is underweight.  With just three legs, staples at the surgery site, and vision in only one eye, Lucas needs help getting home quickly.  Please call 206-552-0304 if you can help with physical searches, making signs, handing out fliers, or other tasks.  You can also email jim@3retrievers.com
